Burg Nürings
Königstein im Taunus, Germany, Germany
Burg Nürings is a small medieval spur castle ruin located immediately south of the larger Falkenstein Castle in the Falkenstein district of Königstein im Taunus, within Germany's Hochtaunus region.
Built in the 11th century by the Lords of Nürings—a noble family that died out by 1172—it served as an early defensive outpost guarding trade routes, with only remnants of a square stone tower surviving after its abandonment and quarrying.
Nestled in the scenic Burghain Falkenstein nature reserve, the atmospheric site offers hikers a quick detour amid Taunus forests, complementing nearby castle explorations with unobtrusive historical charm.
