Burg Plau is a medieval lowland castle located on the west side of Plauer See in Plau am See, Germany. Built initially around 1287 and expanded several times afterward, the castle's most prominent surviving feature is its well-preserved tower from 1448/49, which includes thick three-meter walls and an 11-meter-deep dungeon.
The castle served as a fortified residence and defensive structure protecting the town. Today, the tower houses the Plau Castle Museum, which showcases local history, crafts, and technology, including exhibits on 19th-century industry and the inventor Dr. Ernst Alban.
Visitors can explore the rich heritage of the area and enjoy the castle's historical atmosphere by the lake.
