Burg Tringenstein
Siegbach, Germany, Germany
Burg Tringenstein is a ruined hill castle atop the 536-meter Schlossberg overlooking Tringenstein, a district of Siegbach in Hesse's Lahn-Dill-Kreis, Germany.
Built around 1325 by the Counts of Nassau-Dillenburg during the Dernbacher Fehde as a counter to Hessian fortifications, it was first documented in 1356 and expanded into a spacious residence that briefly served as a seat for nobility, including during the Thirty Years' War.
Abandoned after 1806, it was dismantled as a stone quarry by locals, leaving only scattered wall remnants and a model reconstruction today, with the site offering panoramic views and free access.
