Burgruine Ehrenfels
Austria, Austria
Burgruine Ehrenfels is a high medieval castle ruin in Styria, Austria, near Kammern im Liesingtal.
It stands on a steep rocky spur about 1,150 meters above sea level and was once a strong defensive site, but today only a few remains are left. The ruin is reached by a narrow, steep trail, and the walk is part of its appeal because of the wide views over the Liesingtal. It is mainly visited for hiking, scenery, and its dramatic medieval setting rather than for large surviving buildings.
