Burgruine Grafendahn near Dahn in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, is part of the vast Dahn castle complex (with Altdahn and Tanstein), built in 1287 by Conrad of Mursel—a vassal of Speyer's bishops and nephew of Frederick of Dahn—as a Ganerbenburg shared by multiple families.
Strengthened in 1425, it passed via inheritance to the Margraves of Baden in 1437 after Sponheim's extinction, but fell to Prince Elector Frederick the Victorious in 1462 who slighted it during siege.
Owned later by Fleckensteins until 1637 and Waldenburg tavern keepers, it returned to Speyer in 1793 without re-enfeoffment, now showcasing remnants like shield walls amid the restored 20th-century clifftop trio linked by rocky paths.
