Burgruine Hieburg is a medieval hillside castle ruin located in the state of Salzburg, Austria, near Neukirchen am Großvenediger. First mentioned in records dating back to 1290, it was originally built toward the end of the 13th century by noble families such as the Velber and Albener, possibly acting as a fortified manor or defensive stronghold.

The castle underwent several ownership changes over the centuries and experienced multiple destructive fires, notably in 1544 and 1661, which left it in a deteriorated state. After these events, the castle was slowly abandoned and fell into ruin. Remnants of the site include parts of the ring wall, a romantic bergfried (a type of tower), and the chapel ruins.

The structure suffered further damage over time, including partial collapses caused by World War II and natural decay. Today, the ruins are unsafe to enter due to structural instability, but the site remains a testament to Austria's medieval history and architecture, offering scenic views of the surrounding valley landscape.
