Burgruine Keseberg
Vöhl, Germany, Germany
Burgruine Keseberg is the ruin of an early medieval hilltop castle situated on the northern ridge of the Keseberg hill near Ederbringhausen in Vöhl, Hesse, Germany.
Dating back to the 11th century with possible 10th-century origins, it once featured a bergfried tower, defensive ditches, and masonry walls as a local power center before destruction in 1277, later overshadowed by nearby Hessenstein Castle built in 1328-1342 on the southern ridge.
Today, the overgrown site attracts hikers via trails offering views over the Eder Valley, with scant remnants blending into the forested landscape.
