Burgruine Staufenberg is the medieval‑era castle ruin that sits above the small town of Staufenberg in Hesse, Germany.

It consists mainly of the upper castle, perched on a forested basalt cone at the confluence of the Lahn and Lumda rivers, first mentioned in writing around 1233 and largely built in the 13th century. Today only fragments remain, including parts of the palace walls, a corner tower with an accessible spiral staircase, sections of the ring wall, some cellars, and a 15th‑century gate, all of which visitors can walk through on a short hike from the town.

The upper castle was heavily damaged during the Hessian War in the mid 17th century and later used as a quarry until about 1843, after which the ruins were stabilized and turned into a popular spot for excursions, local festivals, and open‑air theater, while the newer lower castle down the slope now functions as a hotel and restaurant.
