Cann Memorial Gardens in Ponca City, Oklahoma, is a 10-acre botanical garden built around the historic 1908 home of Lester A. Cann, a prominent local civic leader who served more than 25 years as both commissioner and city manager.

The property was donated to Ponca City in 1975 by Elsie Cann Brown, Lester and Mary Cann’s daughter, with the express wish that it be maintained as a memorial garden for the community. The gardens feature winding brick walkways, a wisteria arbor, a lily pond, and vibrant beds of perennials, herbs, and annuals arranged with colorful coordination. Since 1980, over 70 species of trees have been planted, contributing to a lush and peaceful environment.

The garden hosts educational workshops, community events, and an annual Herb Festival that began in 1993, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Cann Memorial Gardens remains a beloved public space for gardening enthusiasts, families, and those seeking a tranquil outdoor experience in Ponca City.
