Castel Litiano (Rovine) is the remains of a medieval fortified settlement located near Roccastrada in Tuscany.

Historical records mention the site as early as 1140, and by the 13th century it had developed into a castle that served as a refuge and defensive center for the surrounding area. Today, the site survives as ruins hidden within a holm oak forest on Poggio Castello. Archaeological remains reveal parts of an imposing defensive wall that once enclosed the settlement, along with traces of buildings that were likely homes arranged along the hillside.

Although little remains of the original castle, Castel Litiano offers a fascinating glimpse into Tuscany’s medieval past. Its secluded location, historic significance, and surviving stone structures make it an interesting destination for those interested in archaeology, history, and the region’s ancient fortified villages.
