Castel Vanga, also known as Wangen-Bellermont Castle, is a medieval castle located near the village of Vanga on the Renon plateau in South Tyrol.

It was built between 1209 and 1237 by the Lords of Wangen, an influential noble family connected to the bishops of Trento, and occupies a dramatic position above the Sarentino Gorge. The castle was destroyed during regional conflicts in 1277 but was later rebuilt and converted into a noble residence. Over the centuries it changed owners several times and experienced periods of decline before being restored and made habitable again.

Today, Castel Vanga remains an impressive example of medieval architecture in South Tyrol. Surrounded by forests and mountain landscapes, it is privately owned and not open to the public, but it continues to be a prominent landmark and an important reminder of the region’s feudal history.
