Castelfranco is a historic fortress overlooking the seaside area of Finale Ligure in the Province of Savona, Italy.

Originally built by the Republic of Genoa around 1365, it was intended to control the territory of Finale and strengthen Genoese influence along the Ligurian coast. During the 17th century, when the region came under Spanish rule, the medieval castle was expanded into a larger military stronghold with powerful defensive structures and bastions.

Its strategic position overlooking the sea made it an important element of the coastal defense system. Today, Castelfranco is one of Finale Ligure’s most recognizable landmarks. No longer used for military purposes, it serves as a cultural venue hosting exhibitions, concerts, and events while offering visitors impressive views of the town and the Ligurian Sea.
