Castello
Bardineto, Italy, Italy
Castello di Bardineto is a medieval castle located in the village of Bardineto in Liguria’s Bormida Valley.
Built in the 13th century by the Del Carretto family, it occupied a strategic position along important routes linking the Ligurian coast with inland Piedmont and served as a key defensive stronghold. The castle suffered major damage during the Battle of Loano in 1795, leaving only parts of its original structure standing today.
Although largely in ruins, the site remains a notable historical landmark, appreciated for its medieval heritage, scenic setting, and panoramic views over the surrounding valley.
