Castello Comunale Falletti di Barolo is a historic castle that stands at the heart of the village of Barolo in Piedmont, one of Italy’s most famous wine regions.

Its origins date back to the 10th century, when it was built as a fortified stronghold to defend the area from invasions. Over the centuries, it became the residence of the influential Falletti family, who played a major role in the history of Barolo and its wines. The castle was expanded and rebuilt several times, especially after damage during the wars of the 16th century.

In the 19th century, it was associated with notable figures such as Marchioness Giulia Colbert Falletti and the writer Silvio Pellico. Later, it served as a school before being acquired by the municipality of Barolo in 1970. Today, the castle is one of the region’s most important cultural landmarks. It houses the WiMu Wine Museum and the Regional Enoteca of Barolo, offering visitors an engaging introduction to the history, culture, and traditions of wine in the Langhe area.
