Castello dei Monteroni, also known as the Castellaccio dei Monteroni, is a fortified medieval farmhouse located near Ladispoli in Lazio along the historic Via Aurelia.

Built during the Middle Ages in an area rich in Etruscan archaeological remains, it served many purposes over the centuries, including a postal station, inn, and stopping place for travelers journeying between Rome and Civitavecchia. Despite periods of abandonment and decay, the structure remains an important local landmark, notable for its corner towers, defensive design, and connection to the region’s long history. Restoration efforts have helped preserve this rare example of a fortified rural estate and its cultural significance.
