Castello delle Quattro Torra is a picturesque 14th-century fortified castle located just outside Siena in the Tuscan countryside.

Built to help defend the city, it takes its name from the four distinctive corner towers that give the structure its striking appearance. Originally owned by prominent Sienese families, the castle played a defensive role during periods of conflict, including the war of 1555. After Siena came under Medici rule.

It gradually lost its military importance and was transformed into a countryside residence while retaining much of its medieval character. Today, Castello delle Quattro Torra is admired for its well-preserved architecture, brick towers, and beautiful setting among olive groves and rolling hills. It remains one of the most charming historic castles near Siena and offers visitors an authentic glimpse into Tuscany’s medieval past.
