Castello di Aymavilles is a historic castle in the Aosta Valley, set on a hill surrounded by vineyards near the entrance to the Cogne Valley.

Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was built in a strategic position to control important routes through the valley. Over the centuries, the powerful Challant family transformed the castle, adding its distinctive four circular corner towers and later remodeling it into an elegant residence.

In the 18th century, Baroque features were introduced, creating a unique blend of medieval fortifications and refined noble architecture. Today, Castello di Aymavilles is one of the most recognizable castles in the Aosta Valley. Following extensive restoration, it is open to visitors and showcases the region’s history, art, and aristocratic heritage within a remarkably well-preserved setting.
