Castello di Bellaguarda is a medieval fortress located above the village of Tovo di Sant’Agata in Valtellina, Lombardy.

Built between the 13th and early 14th centuries, with a watchtower documented as early as 1226, it was part of a defensive network that controlled important routes leading to the Mortirolo Pass. The castle was owned for centuries by the powerful Venosta family and developed into one of the most complex fortified sites in the valley.

Its distinctive layout includes multiple terraced levels, crenellated walls, a guardhouse, and a prominent watchtower, all positioned to take advantage of the steep hillside and provide strategic views over the surrounding region. Unlike many other castles in Valtellina, Bellaguarda has preserved a significant portion of its original structure thanks to restoration efforts.
