Castello di Bramafam is a medieval fortress in the city of Aosta, built along the ancient Roman walls and incorporating parts of earlier Roman defenses.

The castle dates mainly from the 13th century and was associated with the powerful Challant family, who used it as an important administrative and defensive stronghold. The complex is known for its large stone residence and distinctive cylindrical tower, which still stands beside the remains of the Roman fortifications.

Over time, the castle lost its strategic role, fell into decline, and survives today largely as a picturesque ruin. Its name, “Bramafam,” is linked to local legends and expressions associated with hunger and hardship, adding a layer of folklore to its history. Today, Castello di Bramafam remains an important monument in Aosta, reflecting the city's blend of Roman and medieval heritage.
