Castello di Brescia, often called the “Falcon of Italy,” is a massive fortress that stands on Cidneo Hill overlooking the city of Brescia.

Built and expanded over many centuries, it combines medieval, Visconti, Venetian, and later fortifications, making it one of the largest and most important defensive complexes in Italy. The castle played a key role in protecting the city and witnessed many important historical events, including conflicts between regional powers and the famous “Ten Days of Brescia” uprising against Austrian rule in 1849.

Its walls, towers, drawbridge, and fortified keep reflect the site's long military history. Today, the castle is one of Brescia’s most popular landmarks, offering panoramic views of the city and housing museums such as the Luigi Marzoli Arms Museum and the Museum of the Risorgimento. It is both a cultural center and a symbol of Brescia’s rich historical heritage.
