Castello di Caidate is a historic castle located in the hamlet of Caidate, part of the municipality of Sumirago in Lombardy.

Built in the 14th century, it occupies a strategic position overlooking the Arno Valley and was originally used by the Visconti family as a fortified residence and hunting retreat. Over the centuries, the castle passed to the Bigli and later the Confalonieri families, who gradually transformed it from a military stronghold into an elegant noble villa.

While retaining features such as its quadrangular layout, central courtyard, and imposing tower, it was enhanced with residential elements and surrounded by a landscaped park. Today, Castello di Caidate remains one of the notable historic residences in the Varese area. Its blend of medieval architecture, noble heritage, and scenic setting makes it an important symbol of the region’s history and culture.
