Castello di Caneva is a medieval fortress perched on a rocky hill in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

Its origins likely lie near an ancient Roman watchtower, and by the 11th century it had become an important stronghold of the Patriarchate of Aquileia, guarding key routes between Friuli and the Veneto. Because of its strategic location, the castle was frequently contested by regional powers and endured several sieges and conflicts over the centuries.

Although it fell into decline after the 16th century and now survives mainly as ruins, its remaining walls and towers, together with the nearby Church of Santa Lucia, continue to reflect its important defensive role in northern Italian history.
