Castello di Castellano is a medieval castle perched above the Vallagarina valley in Trentino, near the village of Castellano.

Built before or during the 12th century, it occupied a strategic position that allowed it to control important routes leading through the area and toward Lake Cei. The castle was conquered by the Castelbarco family in the 13th century and later passed to the Counts of Lodron in 1456, who transformed it from a military stronghold into an elegant noble residence.

Over the centuries, it also served as an important episcopal seat connected to the Prince-Bishops of Trento. Today, the castle remains one of the best-known landmarks of the Vallagarina region. Its most distinctive feature is a long defensive wall that descends the hillside to a watchtower, while its hilltop location offers impressive views across the valley. The castle is privately owned and can be visited by arrangement.
