Castello di Castiglione delle Stiviere is a historic castle overlooking the town of Castiglione delle Stiviere in Lombardy.

Probably founded in the 9th century on the site of an earlier Roman fortification, it occupied a strategic hilltop position and served as an important defensive stronghold for centuries. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the castle became closely associated with the Gonzaga family, who transformed it into a princely residence and the center of their local court.

It is especially significant as the birthplace of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga in 1568, one of the town’s most famous historical figures. The castle suffered severe damage during military conflicts in the early 18th century and was largely demolished, with some materials later reused in local construction projects.

Today, remnants such as the entrance tower, sections of the fortifications, and the nearby Basilica of San Sebastiano preserve the memory of what was once one of the most important Gonzaga strongholds in the region.
