Castello di Cinzano
Cinzano, Piedmont, Italy, Italy
Castello di Cinzano is a historic castle located in the hilltop village of Cinzano in Piedmont, near Turin.
Its origins date back to the 11th century, when it developed around a large square tower and formed part of a fortified medieval settlement surrounded by defensive walls. In 1666, Marquis Carlo Renato Della Chiesa transformed the fortress into a refined noble residence by expanding the building and creating gardens around it.
During the 19th century, the castle was restored in a neo-Gothic style, with battlements and other medieval-inspired features that gave it much of its present appearance. After suffering damage during World War II, the castle underwent several changes in use, serving as a restaurant and educational institution before being divided into private apartments in 1968.
