Castello di Filettole, often known as the Castellaccio di Filettole, is a historic fortified complex in the village of Filettole near Pisa, Tuscany.

Originally founded around the 12th century as the fortified Monastery of Santa Viviana, it occupied a strategic position along the Serchio River on the historic frontier between Pisa and Lucca. The site endured several sieges during the Middle Ages and was later transformed by the Pisans into a fortified residence with towers.

In the late 14th century it became the residence of Archbishop Lotto Gambacorti, and after Pisa fell to Florence in 1406 it became known as the “Castellaccio.” Over the centuries the building was renovated and adapted into a noble residence while preserving traces of its medieval past. Today, it remains one of the most notable historic landmarks in Filettole, valued for its architecture, long history, and connection to the borderland struggles between Pisa and Lucca.
