Castello di Manciano, also known as the Rocca Aldobrandesca, is a medieval fortress that stands at the highest point of the hilltop town of Manciano in southern Tuscany.

Originally built in the 12th century and later expanded by the powerful Aldobrandeschi family, it played a key role in controlling the surrounding Maremma region thanks to its strategic location. Over the centuries, the castle passed through the hands of several rulers, including the Orsini family, the Republic of Siena, and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

Its imposing stone walls, crenellated tower, and fortified structure reflect its long military history and importance as a defensive stronghold. Today, the castle serves as part of the town hall complex and remains one of Manciano’s most recognizable landmarks. Visitors are attracted by its historic architecture and spectacular panoramic views that stretch across the Maremma countryside, from Mount Amiata to the Tyrrhenian coast and the Tuscan islands.
