Castello di Marsiliana
Marsiliana, Italy, Italy
Castello di Marsiliana is a historic medieval castle located in the village of Marsiliana, in southern Tuscany’s Maremma region.
Originally built during the Middle Ages, it was controlled by the powerful Aldobrandeschi family before passing to the Republic of Siena and later the Medici rulers of Tuscany. Over the centuries, the fortress evolved from a defensive stronghold into a large rural estate. In the 18th century it became the property of the Corsini family, who restored and expanded the complex while preserving its medieval tower and historic character.
The estate has remained associated with the Corsini family ever since. Today, Castello di Marsiliana stands as a landmark of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by farmland, vineyards, and olive groves. Its imposing tower, historic buildings, and connection to centuries of regional history make it one of the most notable heritage sites in the area.
