Castello di Monteodorisio is a medieval castle that overlooks the town of Monteodorisio in Italy’s Abruzzo region.

Its origins date back to the 11th century, and it was likely built by the Normans as a strategic fortress guarding the Sinello Valley. Over the centuries, it was owned by several noble families, including the Caldora and D’Avalos families. Built on the highest part of the town, the castle provided excellent views of the surrounding landscape and served as an important defensive stronghold.

Although parts of the original structure were lost due to warfare, renovations, and later urban development, three of its original towers and significant sections of its walls still survive. Today, the restored castle is one of Monteodorisio’s most important landmarks. It houses local museums and cultural exhibits, allowing visitors to explore both the history of the fortress and the heritage of the surrounding region.
