Castello di Montesegale is a medieval fortress that stands on a hill above the village of Montesegale in the Oltrepò Pavese area of Lombardy.

Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, possibly building upon an earlier tower, and it occupied a strategic position overlooking the Ardivestra Valley and surrounding routes. The castle was closely associated with the Gambarana family, who controlled the area for centuries. Although it was largely destroyed during conflicts in 1415, it was later rebuilt and gradually transformed from a military stronghold into a noble residence while retaining its imposing walls, towers, and fortified layout.

Today, Castello di Montesegale is one of the best-preserved castles in the province of Pavia. Privately owned and carefully restored, it is known for its historic architecture, cultural events, and contemporary art exhibitions, making it an important landmark of the region’s history and heritage.
