Castello di Prasco is a medieval castle located in the village of Prasco in Piedmont.

First documented in the late 12th century, it occupied a strategic position overlooking routes that connected Liguria with the Alto Monferrato region, serving both defensive and administrative functions. Over the centuries, it belonged to several noble families, including the Malaspina, Spinola, and Gallesio-Piuma families.

The castle is characterized by a central quadrangular structure flanked by three semicircular towers dating from the 12th century. It also features historic halls, internal gardens within the walls, and a well-preserved 17th-century ice house known as a “neviera.” Today, the castle remains a notable example of Monferrato’s fortified architecture. It houses cultural activities linked to the legacy of the naturalist Giorgio Gallesio and, through guided visits, offers insight into the region’s history, agriculture, and noble heritage.
