Castello di Roncade is a remarkable Renaissance estate located in the town of Roncade, between Treviso and Venice. It is famous for being the only pre-Palladian Venetian villa still completely enclosed by medieval-style walls, towers, and a moat, combining the elegance of a noble residence with the appearance of a fortified castle. The site has medieval origins, but the present complex was largely rebuilt in the early 16th century by the Venetian nobleman Girolamo Giustinian. Designed in the Renaissance period, it became an important agricultural and noble estate, reflecting the wealth and influence of the Venetian Republic.
