Castello di San Mauro is a fortified rural estate located in the Cantinella area of Corigliano-Rossano, Calabria.

Built in 1515 by Bernardo Sanseverino, Prince of Bisignano, it was designed as both a defensive structure and a center for managing and storing agricultural products from the surrounding lands. The complex is notable for its enclosed walls, courtyards, towers, and agricultural facilities, reflecting the importance of farming and estate management in southern Italy during the Renaissance period.

In 1535, it even hosted Emperor Charles V, prompting the construction of additional buildings to accommodate his large court. Although now largely in ruins, the castle remains an important example of a fortified agricultural estate rather than a traditional military fortress. Its surviving walls and structures offer insight into the region’s rural history and the power of the noble Sanseverino family in Calabria.
