Castello di Savignone is a medieval fortress overlooking the town of Savignone in Liguria’s Scrivia Valley.
Built around the early 13th century on a rocky outcrop rising about 150 meters above the village, it served as both a defensive stronghold and a noble residence. Over the centuries, the castle was controlled by several prominent families, most notably the Fieschi, and played a role in regional conflicts and the defense of important routes between Genoa and inland northern Italy.
Today, the castle survives as an impressive ruin, known for its distinctive semicircular tower, dramatic hilltop setting, and rich connection to Liguria’s medieval history.
