Castello di Vettignè is a late medieval castle located in the hamlet of Vettignè near Santhià, in Italy’s Piedmont region.

Built in the 15th century, possibly on the site of an earlier fortification, it occupied an important position near historic trade and pilgrimage routes, including the Via Francigena. The castle features a rectangular fortified layout with a striking cylindrical tower, battlements, and defensive architectural elements that reflect its original military purpose.

Over the centuries, it was gradually transformed into a rural residence as the surrounding area became focused on agriculture, particularly rice cultivation. Once owned by prominent noble families, the castle is now known for its atmospheric appearance and historic character. Although much of the complex has been abandoned since the depopulation of the village in the 20th century, it remains an impressive reminder of the region’s medieval heritage.
