Castello Normanno-Svevo di Nicastro is a medieval fortress that stands on San Teodoro Hill above the historic Nicastro district of Lamezia Terme in Calabria.

Built on or near an earlier Byzantine stronghold and later developed by the Normans in the 11th century, it occupied a strategic position overlooking the surrounding plain and the Tyrrhenian coast. The castle was significantly expanded during the reign of Emperor Frederick II, who added defensive structures, barracks, and prisons.

It is also associated with the imprisonment of his son, Henry VII, making it one of the most historically notable fortresses in Calabria. Although damaged by major earthquakes, especially in 1638, the castle’s impressive ruins, including surviving towers, walls, and bastions, remain a prominent landmark. Today it is valued for its rich medieval history and its panoramic views over Lamezia Terme and the Sant’Eufemia plain.
