Castello Reale di Moncalieri is a historic royal residence in Moncalieri, near Turin, and one of the most important castles associated with the House of Savoy.

Originally built as a medieval fortress in a strategic position overlooking the southern approach to Turin, it was gradually transformed into an elegant royal palace and became a favorite residence of Savoy dukes, princes, and kings. The castle played an important role in Italian history, most notably as the place where King Victor Emmanuel II issued the Proclamation of Moncalieri in 1849.

Over the centuries, it was enlarged and embellished by renowned architects, resulting in a striking complex that combines medieval origins with later Baroque features. Today, the castle is part of the UNESCO-listed Residences of the Royal House of Savoy and remains one of Piedmont’s most significant cultural landmarks.
