Castello Savelli, also known as Castello Savelli-Torlonia, is a remarkable medieval fortress that dominates the hilltop town of Palombara Sabina in Lazio.

First documented in 1064, the castle was expanded and transformed over the centuries by the powerful Savelli family, who turned it from a defensive stronghold into an elegant noble residence adorned with Renaissance frescoes. The castle also played important historical roles, including serving as the site of the Knights Templar trials in 1310.

With its imposing tower, extensive fortified complex, and more than 130 rooms spread across roughly 10,000 square meters, it is considered one of the largest castles in Lazio. Today, it is owned by the municipality and houses cultural facilities, including a museum and library, while remaining the symbol of Palombara Sabina.
