Castello Visconteo di Legnano is a medieval castle located on a natural island formed by the Olona River in Legnano, Lombardy.

Originally developed between the 13th and 15th centuries, it evolved from an earlier religious site into a fortified stronghold controlled by powerful families such as the Della Torre, Visconti, and Lampugnani dynasties. Because Legnano occupied a strategic position on the route between Milan and Lake Maggiore, the castle played an important defensive role for centuries.

Its brick walls, towers, moat, and fortified layout reflect the military architecture of medieval Lombardy. Over time, the castle was transformed from a military fortress into a noble residence and later an agricultural estate. Acquired and restored by the municipality in the 20th century, it is now one of Legnano’s most important historic landmarks, hosting exhibitions, cultural events, and activities connected to the city’s heritage.
