Castello Visconteo di Voghera is a medieval fortress in the center of Voghera, Lombardy, built by the Visconti family during the 14th century.

Construction began under Azzone Visconti and was expanded by Galeazzo II Visconti, creating a strong defensive castle with a rectangular layout, corner towers, a moat, and drawbridges. Strategically positioned near the town walls, the castle helped protect the city from external attacks and provided a secure refuge during periods of unrest. 

Over the centuries, it underwent several alterations and was even used as a prison during the 19th century before restoration efforts returned much of its historic character. Today, the castle is one of Voghera’s most important historic landmarks. Visitors can admire its imposing brick architecture and traces of Renaissance frescoes attributed to Bramantino, while the building also serves as a venue for exhibitions, cultural events, and community activities.
