The Castle of Manfredonia, also known as the Swabian-Angevin-Aragonese Castle, is a large medieval fortress overlooking the Adriatic coast in the town of Manfredonia, Puglia.

Its construction began in the late 13th century and was later expanded by successive rulers, including the Angevins, Aragonese, and Spanish, giving the castle its distinctive appearance and layered architectural history. Built to protect the city and its harbor, the castle played an important defensive role for centuries and survived numerous conflicts, including a major Ottoman attack in 1620.

Its strong walls, towers, moat, and bastions reflect the evolution of military architecture over time. Today, the castle is one of Manfredonia’s most important landmarks and houses the National Archaeological Museum of Manfredonia. Visitors can explore the fortress while discovering archaeological treasures from the surrounding Gargano and Siponto areas, making it both a historic monument and a cultural center.
