Clark Botanic Garden in Roslyn Heights, New York, is a 12-acre botanical garden established in 1969 on the estate once owned by Grenville Clark, an attorney and advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The garden, designed by Alice Recknagel Ireys, features about 5,000 plant species, including over 1,000 labeled trees, shrubs, and garden plants arranged in twelve specialty gardens such as native wildflowers, conifers, roses, and medicinal plants. It includes two ponds, a community gardening area, and a small gift shop. Owned by the Town of North Hempstead and operated by a nonprofit, the garden is free to the public and occasionally hosts concerts and special events.
The garden serves as a peaceful oasis for nature lovers and horticulture enthusiasts, emphasizing horticultural education and community engagement.
