Cornell Botanic Gardens is a large and diverse botanical garden and natural sanctuary located adjacent to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

It spans about 25 acres of cultivated botanical gardens and an additional 150 acres of the F. R. Newman Arboretum, with a total of over 4,300 acres of nature areas around Cornell and Ithaca. The gardens specialize in trees and shrubs native to New York State and include themed collections such as a notable herb garden with over 500 plants arranged by various themes, heritage vegetable gardens, wildflower gardens, as well as ornamental and perennial gardens.

Beyond the cultivated areas, the Botanic Gardens manage extensive natural areas including bogs, fens, meadows, gorges, and woodlands, providing about 9 miles of walking trails that offer visitors a chance to experience diverse habitats. The gardens have a long history dating back to Cornell's founding in the mid-19th century and serve as a living museum, educational resource, and research facility for plant appreciation, conservation, and sustainability.

They are open daily without charge and highly recommended for their beauty, tranquility, and educational value. The site also hosts academic courses, lectures, and tours, supporting both scholarly work and public enjoyment.
