Crayfish Cay, also spelled Crayfish Caye or Crayfish Caye, is a small island in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Belize, lying near the mouth of the Belize River and the eastern coast of the mainland. It is one of the many tiny cays that dot the Belizean coastline, generally used more for fishing and local maritime activities than for large‑scale tourism. The island is low‑lying, with a natural setting of sand, mangroves, and surrounding warm, shallow waters typical of Belize’s coastal and reef environment, and it is often associated with the wider network of cays and estuaries that support marine life, lobster and crayfish fishing, and small‑boat navigation along the Belize coast.
