Curieuse Island is a small granitic island just off the north coast of Praslin in the Seychelles, famous for its striking red earth, pristine beaches, and unique biodiversity. It is home to a population of over 250 Aldabra giant tortoises that roam freely across the island, making it a sanctuary and one of the few places in the world where you can walk among these gentle giants.

The island is also notable for its rare Coco de Mer palms, found only here and on Praslin, and for its mangrove forests, scenic nature trails, and impressive granite rock formations. Beyond its natural beauty, Curieuse has a historical side, with ruins from its time as a leper colony visible along some hiking paths.

The surrounding Curieuse Marine National Park protects vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, making snorkeling and swimming popular activities. Easily reached by a short boat trip from Praslin, Curieuse Island offers visitors a remarkable blend of wildlife encounters, natural scenery, and serene beaches in a tranquil, well-preserved environment.
