Dysert O’Dea Castle, also known as O’Dea Castle, is a restored 15th-century Gaelic tower house located near Corofin in County Clare, Ireland.

Built between 1470 and 1490 by the O’Dea clan, it served as their principal stronghold and stands on a site closely linked to the famous Battle of Dysert O’Dea, where local Irish forces defeated the Anglo-Normans in 1318. The castle changed hands several times during Ireland’s turbulent medieval and early modern history, enduring wars, confiscations, and periods of decline before falling into ruin.

In the late 20th century, it was carefully restored and transformed into an archaeological and heritage center. Today, visitors can explore the castle’s four floors, learn about local archaeology and history, and enjoy views of the surrounding countryside. The site also includes the nearby Dysert O’Dea Monastery and St. Tola’s High Cross, making it one of County Clare’s most important historical attractions.
