Egg Castle (Schloss Egg) is a well-preserved medieval castle in the village of Egg, part of Bernried in Bavaria, Germany. Originally built as a moated fortress in the 11th century, it has more than 900 years of history and is considered one of the oldest castles in the region. Over the centuries it served as a defensive stronghold, survived wars and fires, and was later transformed into a romantic-style castle while retaining much of its medieval character. Today, visitors can explore historic halls, a castle chapel, a prison and torture chamber, and a striking 45‑meter tower that offers views of the surrounding countryside.
