Eram Garden
Shiraz, Iran, Iran
Eram Garden (Bāgh-e Eram) is a historic Persian garden in Shiraz, Iran, located on the northern shore of the Khoshk River in Fars Province and covering about 110,000 square meters.
Its name means “paradise,” and the garden is celebrated as one of Iran’s most famous and beautiful for its lush greenery, flowers, aromatic myrtles, towering cypress trees, and intricate water features. The garden’s origins may date back to the 12th century under the Seljuk dynasty, though its current layout and the three‑story Qajar‑era pavilion (the Qavam House) were developed in the 19th century during Naser al‑Din Shah Qajar’s reign.
Today it is part of the Shiraz Botanical Garden managed by Shiraz University and operates as a public historic landscape garden and botanical research center, while also hosting a small mineralogy museum and a café (Sherbet house) inside the pavilion. Eram Garden was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011 as part of the Persian Garden collection and is especially popular in spring for its flowers and serene atmosphere.
