Euryalus Fortress, also known as Castello Eurialo, is an ancient Greek military fortress located on the outskirts of Syracuse in Sicily.

Built in the early 4th century BC under the ruler Dionysius I, it formed the strongest point of the city's defensive system and guarded the only natural land approach to Syracuse. The fortress is renowned for its advanced military engineering, featuring massive defensive walls, deep moats, towers, drawbridges, underground tunnels, and large water cisterns.

Its sophisticated design made it one of the most formidable fortifications of the ancient Greek world and helped protect Syracuse from enemy attacks. Today, the ruins remain one of Sicily’s most important archaeological sites.
