Evanston Township High School, established in 1883 in Evanston, Illinois, is the city's first and only public high school serving students from Evanston and nearby Skokie.
It began with a modest opening of four teachers and 107 students and quickly gained a strong reputation academically and in statewide competitions. The school moved to its current campus, designed by architect Dwight H. Perkins, in 1924 to accommodate growing enrollment. The campus consists of four wings named after early superintendents, each originally operating as separate schools, connected by Heritage Hall.
Over the decades, the school has expanded its programs, facilities, and extracurricular offerings, including advanced placement courses, technical arts, and sports teams. It emphasizes innovation, equity, community engagement, and preparing students for college and careers, fostering a vibrant school spirit.
